Networks are companies that, by providing a third-party service to YouTube, aggregate channels of various styles or segments to organize them and offer creators a combination of support, structure, and compensation better than what YouTube itself could provide. YouTube is known for its bugs and opaque systems, and getting in touch with them is usually complicated and slow. By being part of a network, that communication is facilitated, which can be crucial to solving your problems.
Yes, Thumb Media offers personalized support for your channel. Whether by email, through sections like this on our website, or even through our social media, where we try our best to share the knowledge we have about YouTube.
First, you need to get in touch with us. After we talk, clear up any doubts, and come to an agreement, we’ll take care of the process of joining the network, which usually has three steps:\n\n1. Sign the Thumb Media Partnership Agreement – signed by you and us;\n2. Your channel is added to the Thumb Media Content Management System (CMS) on YouTube;\n3. Keep making awesome videos for your YouTube channel!
No, never! You will keep full control over everything you publish on your channel, and as long as you follow YouTube’s rules, we’re totally fine! We want content creators to be in charge. Of course, if you need anything, ideas or support for something you want to do, we’re here to help!
You still keep full control – nothing changes. If you want graphic support or resources, we can help, no stress! But you’re always in control.
Of course – everything stays the same!
Absolutely! We believe in full transparency, so we’ll give you access to all the information!
There’s no change in the payment cycle when you join Thumb Media. If you’re already a YouTube partner and you join mid-month, you won’t lose anything. You’ll receive payment from YouTube up to the day you joined, and then from that point on, you’ll be paid by Thumb Media. Thumb Media makes payments in the first 5 days of the month following the revenue month.
For now, you can be paid via PayPal or bank transfer – whichever you prefer. If you have other ideas for different payment methods, talk to us. We’re open to alternatives! What matters most is that we talk!
No! We’ll never ask for your password, nor do we need to access your account.
Of course not! You have full control – over your posts, comments, likes, favorites, etc.
Each case is unique, and nothing is guaranteed. That’s why we always start with a conversation with you. If you want, we’ll then help you grow your network and reach on YouTube, increase your number of fans, and boost your views.
Yes, Thumb Media currently works with Channel Meter.
From €10 and up.
Sometimes you have an idea but not the resources to make it happen. A network can, when convenient, support the production of a project by providing various resources.
Thumb Media gives you the opportunity to monetize your channel through ads shown on your videos (the basic YouTube ads). For channels with greater visibility, Thumb Media actively seeks advertisers in the Portuguese market, giving these YouTubers the chance to work with major brands in advertising campaigns.
CPM stands for Cost Per Mille and is a stat designed for advertisers, not creators. CPM is how much an advertiser pays to have their ads shown 1,000 times on videos. But an ad must be watched for more than 30 seconds to count as a monetized view.\n\nThat’s why the most relevant stat for creators is RPM (Revenue Per Mille), which is how much a creator earns per 1,000 monetized views. YouTube refers to RPM as effective CPM (eCPM).\n\nTo calculate eCPM: divide revenue by the number of views and multiply by 1,000.\n\nWhat affects CPM?\n• Seasonality: If there’s high demand for ads, your CPM goes up. For example, CPMs are usually higher in December.\n• Your channel’s characteristics: Advertisers choose where to place ads based on the type of content.\n• Ad type: Some advertisers pay per thousand views, others only when someone takes action (like clicks). These affect overall CPM.
No. While the disassociation is still pending, YouTube won’t let us add you to our network. You must be fully released first.
As a Thumb Media partner, you will need to send an invoice so that we can process your payment. Each partner is responsible for issuing their own invoice according to their legal and tax status. If you are a private individual and not required to issue an invoice, you will receive a payment receipt issued by Thumb Media. If you are outside Portugal, the process may differ depending on your country’s legislation, and we recommend you speak with your accountant or tax advisor.
The payment cycle runs monthly. Earnings generated in a given month are paid during the first 5 days of the following month. The minimum amount to receive a payment is €10. Below this threshold, the amount will carry over to the next month. Payments are made via PayPal or bank transfer. Thumb Media does not charge fees for payments, but third-party services like PayPal or your bank may apply their own fees.
The dashboard shows your total estimated earnings, the number of monetized views, and the effective CPM (eCPM). The most relevant value is the eCPM, which is calculated by dividing your earnings by the number of monetized views, then multiplying by 1,000. You can also view your performance by video, country, and other useful breakdowns to better understand how your content is performing and where your revenue is coming from.
